I'm not wanting to get all dewy eyed about the evo stik but i always felt that those lad's who worked during the week actually gave a shit and genuinely played for the love of it(most of them anyway) whereas a good percentage of the conference is journeymen and mercenaries.Horrible league.

Listening to the commentary, it sounds as though a problem we have at the moment is that Astles is starting to struggle. He's been overworked for months and if he has an off day, we're really going to struggle.
The situation with Bignot reminds me a lot of when Atkins arrived. He inherited a terrible squad and it took him a while to get going, and the problem is that they both started in the thick of a tough set of fixtures. McCarthy's eight games were not very difficult ones.
Like Atkins, I think Bignot will make us better, but like Atkins, I think it sadly will be too little too late.
